In this product sheet, bronze creations are unique pieces made in foundry sand, in a traditional style. These creations are made of solid bronze, up to a maximum of 5 CM depending on the die. The dice are precisely balanced, as they are copied from originals from role-playing game sets (4/6/8/10/100/12/20).

All creations are available made-to-measure by "la forge des plaines" and can be quoted upon request.

"la forge des plaines" offers animations and/or sales of artisanal creations: art ironwork, cutlery, various objects in steel and bronze with fantastic or historical inspiration.

Wet sand casting is the oldest technique. Foundry sand is composed of a mixture of refractory sand (silica) and a binder (bentonite), which is moistened and kneaded in a grinder. This mixture will be used to design single-use molds. The piece used for reproduction is called the master pattern. It can be made of wood, resin, or metal. The pattern will be slightly larger than the final piece, to account for the shrinkage of the cast metal during cooling.

The pattern will be placed halfway into a metal flask filled with rammed sand. A second flask prepared in the same way will cover the first to conform to the shape of the piece. The pattern will then be

removed, and channels will be dug in the sand to feed the pattern's impression during casting.

Once the mold is made, casting can begin. Molten bronze (1050°C) is ladled from the crucible and poured into the mold. Casting must be performed at a regular speed suited to the desired piece.

Shakeout involves demolding the cast piece by breaking the sand mold. This mold will be repeatedly made for each new creation.
