2 3D paper birds

These are two birds that decided to land on a wall, but stayed a little too long and ended up half-fossilized in it. Can we then say that they are two birds, or given that they are two halves of birds, ultimately, that makes only one bird? Because yes, these two DIY paper birds are actually cut in profile, to make them easier to attach to a wall.
