What is the real cost of a Caps’me reusable capsule?

Save up to 60% compared to disposable capsules (€0.17 per cup versus €0.35-0.45). To make this calculation, we took into account our customers' habits (approximately 90% of our customers buy their coffee independently - in stores/roasters). The calculations were made with the coffee we recommend: Malongo equitable coffee (available in all supermarkets), which costs (approximately) €3.5 for 250g, corresponding to at least 50 coffees in reusable capsules: - so: €3.5/50 = €0.07 + €0.10 for the lids. This comes to €0.17 per coffee.

How many coffees are made with Nespresso® coffee capsules:

We recommend selecting the amount of coffee to buy based on your usual consumption. Here are some guidelines to help you choose: A reusable capsule compatible with Nespresso® machines contains 5g of ground coffee. A 200g pack can fill 45 coffee capsules. With 600g, you can fill up to 135 capsules. With 1kg, you can fill up to 225 capsules.

Difference between reusable capsules offered by competitors and CAPS'ME:

• The Nespresso® shaker: our filling system is designed, invented, and patented by Caps'me's two engineer founders, so it is not possible to find these mechanisms elsewhere. Competitors offer to fill capsules with a spoon, which is not at all practical, makes a mess, takes too much time, and is not effective for dosing and tamping the coffee well. As engineers, Caps'me wanted to create a tool that facilitates the switch to reusable capsules. The shaker (Nespresso®) stores ground coffee and, in addition to that, recharges your capsules cleanly, with the right tamping and, most importantly, the right dose of coffee for zero waste.
• Stainless steel capsules: Caps'me has rethought existing capsules on the market to create one that is slightly smaller (to avoid damaging your machine) and pre-pierced to prevent damage to your machine's needles. In addition, the material is food-grade stainless steel, making them indestructible and safe for the body, unlike disposable aluminum capsules which can leave carcinogenic residues in the body.
• The lids: Caps'me's lids are made of compostable starch-based paper, meaning they degrade naturally and are food-grade. Furthermore, this material was entirely invented by us to identically reproduce the coffee extraction provided by a genuine Nespresso® coffee capsule, thus guaranteeing a beautiful crema and a good coffee. In contrast, aluminum capsules offered on the market can leave aluminum residues in the coffee, which are harmful to health. Why did we not opt for reusable stainless steel lids? Simply because they do not guarantee coffee foam or good extraction, and at Caps'me, we wanted to make the process of filling reusable capsules easier for you without affecting the coffee's result, because the pleasure and satisfaction of our customers are what matter most to us.
• Coffee: Caps'me offers coffee roasted in France to guarantee freshness and intense aromas. The coffee grind is precisely adapted to reusable capsules to ensure good extraction, suited to the pressure of your Nespresso® coffee machine. We only select specialty coffees, meaning coffees that meet the high standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Our coffees are selected based on strict criteria, including: smell, aroma, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, uniformity, purity, and many other essential aspects that define a specialty coffee. A score of 80 out of 100 is the minimum for a coffee to be considered specialty. This approach guarantees that every cup of Caps'Me coffee offers an exceptional taste experience.

How to clean and maintain your products?

Shaker Maintenance: To preserve the quality of your shaker, we recommend cleaning it with a dry cloth. Avoid submerging it in water or placing it in the dishwasher, as it could be damaged by heat.

Capsule Maintenance: Cleaning your Caps’me reusable capsules is simple. After use, blow on the pre-perforated part to eject the coffee grounds. You can then place the capsules in the dishwasher or rinse them under a light stream of water.
